Lesson 17: Things that are praiseworthy.
Psalm 56:10 says, “I praise God for what he has promised; Yes, I praise the Lord for what he has promised.” (New Living Translation)
Perhaps during this 40 days of prayer and fasting you find yourself in a tough situation and you need help. You are hoping to simply draw closer to and go deeper in your intimacy with the Lord, however right now it feels like you have this huge need, few answers, and little time. It occupies your mind night and day. You find yourself just holding on to a thread of faith, trusting God for His will, His way and in His time… and the strength to wait for Him to move. If this is you, I offer God’s words of hope and an encouragement to hold on just a little longer. No, I don’t know what your need is or how long you have been waiting. What I do know is that the Lord loves you, knows what you need and is with you as you hold out and hold on in faith.
Psalm 121, “I look up to the mountains— does my help come from there? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth! He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber. Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps. The Lord himself watches over you! The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade. The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon at night. The Lord keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.” (New Living Translation)
Focus today on praising God for His promises sure to be fulfilled in your life by faith. Focus on promises like Philippians 4:19, “But my God will supply all of your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” It won’t be long now… hold on.
